Food Love

I make a lot of pie at Thanksgiving.
I have a love affair with food. Everything about it. Reading about it. Cooking it. Sautéing it. Frying it. Marinating it. Grilling it. Baking it. Smelling it. Talking about it. Eating it. Cleaning it up. Watching other people enjoy it. Planning menus. Discussing it. Drooling over it. Did I mention eating it?
The one thing I don't like about it? If I'm not careful, it likes to shrink my clothes. What's up with that?
I'm pretty sure my all-time favorite is The Pioneer Woman. I have to limit how much I look at her website. Done too frequently, the drool dripping on my laptop would probably fry it. And as much as I love fried food (donuts anyone?), I do not love a fried MacBook. At all.
Be forewarned that I have what sometimes feels like a split personality when it comes to this food love affair of mine. The one side loves all things sugary and baked and chocolatey and chewy and sticky and gooey and fattening. I love baking. I love baking with white flour and white sugar and brown sugar and did I mention chocolate?
But the other side of this food personality of mine is the desire and need to fight my battle with Crohn's disease and my desire to be fit and healthy overall. Balance is something I continually try to find in the this wonderful realm of food and cooking. I am thrilled when I find recipes that are delicious and healthy.
I will slowly add recipes to this page (emphasis on the word slowly). Most of the photos that will appear are snapped on my iPhone. I am not a professional photographer by any stretch of the imagination. Not that I don't wish that I was. It's something on my life list. Well, not necessarily photographer. But the know-how for taking at least semi-cool pictures.

Breakfast. The most important meal of the day, according to many. My normal weekday breakfast consist of Isagenix nutritious protein shakes. But on lazy mornings, I love to make cinnamon rolls or an egg scramble or doughnuts or egg-in-a-hole or french toast.
Or these super simple sticky rolls to the left there. What they lack in nutrition they make up for in simplicity and deliciousness.
